Niche Marketing - Find Your Niche
Niche Marketing is to carve out and own a particular niche in a much broader Market. A Niche Market is a market that is built around 1 type of product (vintage mustang cars), or 1 size (clothes for petite women), or 1 group of people (teens looking to make money online), and so on. A broad market is much harder to own, because you'll be competing against huge corporations that have almost unlimited funds to capture and hold on to that market. So your job as an Affiliate Marketer is to find an underdeveloped niche that you can own. The way to do this is to research the niche. This research always begins with asking yourself some questions; - What am I passionate and knowledgeable about?
If you are passionate and knowledgeable about something your readers will perceive you as an expert. This places you in a position to pre-sell your readers on your product or services that you'll be promoting. - If you are not knowledgeable about a particular niche, do you have the passion to research it?
You'll need to be able to write 30 to 50 pages on any given niche in order to capture the long-tail keywords. - How much time do you have to devote to your Website?
A Website on, for example, “small dogs” is a winnable niche, but it will take time and effort. But a Website on “toy puddles” is easier to own. On the other hand, a much narrower niche may be limited in earning potential. This is something that you will have to decide for yourself.
After you have decided on the central concept of your Website, take a look at what the competition is doing. Use the search Engines and look at the top 20 sites for that concept. You may get ideas on how to approach this niche at different perspective than what the others using. By applying your unique approach, you can take a market share away from your competitors.A good example could be; let's say that you would like to do a Website on cooking where you would present recipes that have been handed down for generations in your family. So you take a look at other cooking web sites and you see that they are either amateurish with little content, or they have a lot of good content, but come across dry. Your unique approach could be to make your site have a more personal feel. Like friends sharing recipes.
Researching your niche is the most important part of Niche Marketing. It could very well take months to do the deep research needed to find that “Golden Goose” niche, but everything that you you will do afterwards will be built on this foundation.
